So here is the deal, I first started playing tennis with a wilson hammer head, this was many many years ago. For the past 4ish years I've been using my dad's old ncode6. Well I have a lot of power and very little control and my coach advised me to try getting a new racket, preferably something smaller. (The Ncode6 has about 112inch racket head) and hopefully 18x20 strings, but that shouldnt matter too much. Anyways I was thinking of getting one of the following rackets: -Babolat Aeros Storm Tour -Prince EXO3 Black -Dunlop Aerogel 4D 300 -Babolat Pure Storm -Prince Ozone Pro Tour If you have any other racket suggestions that go along with rackets like these feel free to leave a response on what you used. My only other question (and you dont have to answer this) is how to convince my dad to let me get a new racket. I've shown him the difference between the prince ozone and my current racket but he doesnt seem to care, insisting I get another cheap hammer head or something lol. I'm a junior in high school, and I usually play around the upper JV and Lower Varsity area (my coach is constantly moving us around a few spots here and there) and I plan on playing in college. Thanks for the help!

I've played a little bit before and I've decided I need to get into a sport (I'm more of the creative type, but I can be athletic. I ski during the winter but I need something I can do year round) I have a racket (garage sale find) and some tennis balls, but no area to practice. I'm not in the greatest shape ever (underweight for my height.. pretty wiry) so whats a workout that I can build up on? Wheres a good place to buy cheap workout clothes (I use my painting shorts and a tank top with a hoodie)?

So recently when I was rallying with a friend of mine, my strings on my tennis racket popped. It was a pretty cheap racket.. It was the: Head Titanium Tornado. I bought it at Wal-Mart when I was just getting into tennis. Nowadays I play almost every single day. I honestly mean it. I am looking more into control rather than power. When using my (now broken) racket, I found myself constantly hitting to the opponent's baseline when I barely 'tap' the ball. I was looking into this racket: Head Liquidmetal Radical OS. I found a friend a mine who is willing to sell it for $50 used with minor wear and tear. Should I go for it? My other friends have suggested I replace my strings with better ones, but I found it pointless to put good strings on a cheap frame like that.. So what would you do? I forgot to mention my first racket was around $20, if that helps anyways.

i was looking for a cheap prince o3 hybrid tour, but i came across a pink prince o3 hybrid. it's just like the hybrid tour, except it's pink. haha. so i was wondering what the specifications of it are. my friend says the hybrid tour isn't being manufactured anymore, so i'm kinda sad about that, but if the pink hybrid one is sort of the same, then i'll think about getting it. i want to know the weight of it strung and unstrung in ounces, the number of mains and crosses it has (the hybrid tour one is 16x18), it's length (like 27 inches). hm... what else? headsize (95 inches i hope), and balance (8 points head light/HL or head heavy/HH). sorry for demanding so much from you. but thank you very much :) keep loving your passion for tennis! yeah! tennis is the best! heheheh

I'm a beginner/intermediate who currently uses a Titanium racket which an L3 grip which i like, the racket is fairly cheap so i'm looking for a more advanced option and found this which looks to be a very good deal as i'm not looking to spend a lot of money. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300454260011&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT#ht_802wt_930

They have very cheap tennis racquet's and I want to know if they are good quality racquet's or if they are crappy Cheap remade versions of the racket.

I have a few questions, see what you guys can answer If a player has a one handed backhand, would if be detrimental to employ a longer racket? would a bigger head (midplus to oversize like the babolat drives) also not be good for a one handed backhand player? If I'm around 5'9, should I be seeking a longer racket? p.s. I'm an intermediate club player with a one handed backhand but I often find difficulty generating enough pace. Any racket recommendations? Any comments on the Babolat Storm? (I noticed it's a cheap one) And finally, please recommend a string that is balanced in playability and durability and most importantly cheap!

What are some activities that I can do with my 11 year old son without spending alot of money. He's now on summer break, so I want to try something every few weeks, like Marine World, Scandia, the movies. Onlt cuz he just graduated and he's a good kid. But past that, I don't wanna send alot of money, nor do I want him real board. What are some ideas we can do on my days off. We have tennis courts, so I'm going to get him a racket (any ideas on a cheap place to buy one), and we will try to play tennis. We have a pool, but both need swimming lessons. We have a dog, so need to find a dog park. We are commited to Denny's every Tuesday when kids eat free from 4-10pm. Any other ideas.

I have been playing tennis for a while with just a cheap big 5 racket. I just received a babolat aeropro drive cortex that I ordered online. I got string tension set at 60 lbs. Now that I got the racket the strings feel super tight although I haven't played with it yet. What do you think about this string tension.

I bought two old tennis rackets today from Goodwill. They are Spalding brand which I hear isn't a good brand but they were super cheap and I'm just a beginner. What is the best way to clean them? They're really nasty lol. Is water and soap going to mess up the string (or what ever the net part is called)? And is grip tape or or the slip on gauze better to use on the handle?
05/16/2010 05:26 AM
I want to start playing tennis; mostly for fun and I have order a cheap tennis racket from Wal-Mart ($20) . In the product's details just said Wilson Federer Signature Oversize Tennis Racquet. Is this a kid (junior) rocket? How different are adult and junior tennis rockets? Do I need to change it and get an adult racket?

He will not allow me to cancel the transaction and is threatening me wih litigation department in eBay. Does anyone know a way to ship a package to France for under 40 dollars? The package weighs less than 1 pound and the dimensions are 34x14x4 inches. Thanks!! P.S. UPS was quite expensive, costing around 150 dollars

Hey answers, I've been playing tennis for awhile now, and I think its time I stepped up from my cheap $30 slazenger racket and bought a nice one. The only problem is, I almost have no idea where to start or how to decide if a racket is right for me without actually being there and trying it out... but I do know a couple things I will be looking for in a racket; light weight, control, and spin. I'm not so much worried about power, If I wanted power id swing faster. I've tried a few Head rackets that almost all of my teammates use and they seem pretty nice, but I dont think thats enough to make a decision yet. as far as expense I wouldn't really want to stray over the $100 mark unless its really worth going over the $100 mark. Thanks for reading, have a good one.

I'm a beginner (I'm going to start playing tennis), what kind of racket should I buy? I'm 15 years old. I'm looking for a cheap tennis racket even if it's used. My grip size is 3 1/2. What kind of racket should I buy? Any recommendations? Thanks.......

Im trying out for tennis next year and i would like to know what racket is the best but cheap. Also any pointers would be just peachy! Thanks guys!
04/09/2010 12:20 AM
OK I am a big tennis player, everyone tells me the one racket I use is far too light, and I agree its very very light, but I use it because then I use less energy when I swing as hard, but now I think I'm going to look for a heavier racket. Any suggestions on any relatively cheap rackets?
03/29/2010 06:10 PM
they are selling very cheap tennis rackets, http://www.tennisonshop.com/babolat-tennis-rackets/new-style-babolat-aeropro-drive-tennis-racquet.html not sure if I am getting scammed, do you guys think this is legit?
03/28/2010 11:31 PM
The racket is too expensive to buy another to use as a spare so id like to know what other racket is almost exact the same as the Prince O3 read (100$). It'd be best if its a bit cheaper but any similar rackets would be great. Thanks

I hit myself in the face with a tennis racket broke one of my front teeth, and Moved my other front to so much that it also needs a root canelm and could still possible die b/c i moved it that much. They did a root canel on my one tooth. I dont have insurance nor do i have yet another 800$ for the second tooth. Like i even had 800$ for the 1st one. I was wonder if I dont get the 2nd root canel, will it be cheaper for me to just get an implant? how long does my tooth have till it dies and falls out? Is there anything that i could do to make the process of it dieing slower?Like drink milk or take vitamin D/calcium?

Recently, I have been walking through snow infortunately. Snow has come into my boots, up the bottom of my pants, etc. So I went out to buy a cheap pair of tennis rackets. I covered the rackets with plastic, and glued them to the bottom of my boots. Now I can walk ON TOP of snow. Not in snow. What do you think? Im pretty sure those "snowshoes" are fake... they dont sell them at walmart.

i currently use head sonic 17 strings on my head Ti S2 at 55 and thats all i've ever had in the two years ive played besides the cheap recreational racket i had when i was first learning the game My skill level is 3.0 - 3.5 that gets decent pace to fast pace, uses some topspin but not obsessed with it and like to use flat winners with my forehands and play mostly a counter punching baseline game I also want to get a new racket but have no idea where to start for demoing from Tennis Warehouse the head ti S2 is a very light racket (9.4 ounces) so i know if i wanna step up my game i should move up to some heavier sticks but im not sure what to try Two rackets I will probably demo are the EXO3 95 rebel team (lite version of monfils) and head youtek radical which i used briefly before and really enjoyed are there any babolats that you reccomend for me my budget is up to $200 for the stick wat strings are good for me?

Hey everyone! I got started playing tennis a couple of months ago when a friend invited me to play on the spur of the moment. I ran to Target to get everything I needed (before that, I didn't even own a pair of athletic shoes!). I was delighted to find a Prince racket at Target, called the "Maria Sharipova Lite" for only $20. My friend, a life-long tennis fanatic, was rather impressed with the quality of the racket for the money I paid. I've used it twice. However, now I am starting tennis lessons this week with a professional instructor. I went on a tennis sporting goods website and found the cheapest rackets to be $170 dollars! Compared to a $170 racket, will my $20 racket hold up for more rigorous use? http://www.amazon.com/Prince-Maria-Tennis-Racquet-Oversized/dp/B0035R4VVO/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=sporting-goods&qid=1264572365&sr=8-2 Here is my racket. The original price says $50.

How much does tennis equipment usually cost? I know it's depending on what you get, but what's the cheapest amount you can spend if you're a woman, need the racket, clothes, shoes, balls, etc.? Thank you! :] Also, you could tell me how much you personally spent, if you would like to.

It does not have to be cheap rackets. I am looking for high quality rackets

I want to buy 1 or 2 cool Wii games with my Christmas money but I don't have money for a Wii Balance Board. I know where I can get the Wii bats, tennis rackets, drums, and a steering wheel for really cheap, but I don't want to have to spend more than 20 or 30 dollars on extra equipment. I have the remote and the nanchuck, both from when we first got the Wii in 2007. I'd really appreciate some suggestions for games that don't require extra equipment or that only require extra equipment that I can purchase the extras for less than 30 dollars all together. I'm a girl and I'm in my early 20's. I haven't played any actual video games since I was a teenager. I love the Mario games, some board and card games, I think I'd like Sims but I never played it, I'm kind of a girlie girl and don't like a lot of action games like war and fighting games, I like bowling and tennis but I seriously cannot play baseball on the Wii. I hope that helps with some suggestions. Thank you and I seriously appreciate any suggestions (even if I didn't mention liking that kind of game cos I have no clue what there is so obviously I'd like more than what I listed)!! I also like games with a purpose. Like levels that you can work your way up to and that have rewards and special stuff for getting so far. And I also like anime. I liked Kingdom Hearts when it came out but I don't know if that's more for little kids cos I can't really remember it much.

I'm thinking about purchasing one with all the accessories and what not, but is it really all that its cracked to be? The accessories looks cheap and light ie..the baseball bats, golf stick, tennis racket, and so on.

I'm looking for pro. The price should be between $150 to $400. I'm sorry, i write the wrong thing. The price should be $15 to $40! Thank you.

I play with a Head racket I bought from Target for $15-20. Is there a significant difference between the rackets from Target and the rackets from a professional sports store that cost $180+ ? I've gone through two rackets from Target now and they break after about 4-7 months. Do more expensive rackets have more durability than the cheap ones? One more question; If I do decide to buy a pricey racket this time, which one should I get? I hit generally flat and hard, and my serve is the same. Any recommendations are appreciated. ;)

Price range is under $350. Looking for the cheapest 6 point system out there, but don't want it to be low quality like many of the Eagnas models. Thanks.

I've been playing tennis a few times a week for a few weeks now. Unfortunately I do not have the luxury of a coach, but have been learning strokes and technique through Fuzzyyellowballs.com which has been quite helpful. As my forehand and backhand have gotten better, I've been having a problem with over hitting the ball. I use a semi-western forehand, so I'm generating a decent amount of spin, but still seem to be hitting long balls. My current racket is cheap $40 Oversize (110 inch) from Target. I was thinking that maybe buying a better quality racket with smaller head-size would help? Again I'm still somewhat new to tennis so any help would be great. Just some added details. -I am not hitting the ball as hard as I can, just hitting the shot comfortably. -I play for recreation while at college with a friend, can't really afford lessons at this point.

I am starting lessons on sunday with a family friend, who happens to be a state champion and own the local tennis club. The problem is that I've been using a beginner's racquet and just recently demoed some racquets. I'm torn between the Pure Drive Roddick Plus and the O3 Hybrid Hornet. I won't play well without a new racquet because the strings are WAY worn out and it's just a cheap beginner's racquet. I don't want to play poorly on my first lesson with this guy. What should I do?

Ok, I really need help with any or all of these you know for a tennis crossword puzzle: 1. The act of striking the ball with the racket (6 letters) 2. A good service which is not touched by the receiver(3 letters) 3. The ball is put into play at the beginning orf the game and after each point with ___________(5 letters) 4. The cheapest of all strings for tennis rackets; generally not recommended bc they lose life quickly.(4 letters) 5. Another name for that portion of the court known as no-man's-land (9 letters) 6. To hold the racket at a point nearer its striking surface, shortening the grip(5 letters) 7. a term used to denote the fact that a player does not have to play a match in the first round of a tournament(3 letters) 8. racket face tilted backward so it faces upward(4 letters) 9. term used to indicate a strong, hard, forehand or backhand shot to the baseline(5 letters) 10. the preliminary movement of the racket in all tennis strokes(9 letters) Ok, thanks all for your help! All the answers worked except for two of them, #8 and #9. #8 has 4 letters and I'm pretty sure the third letter is E, so (_ _ E _ ) #9 has five letters and I think it starts with a d and the third letter is i, so (D _ I _ _ ) Thanks!
