i currently use head sonic 17 strings on my head Ti S2 at 55 and thats all i've ever had in the two years ive played besides the cheap recreational racket i had when i was first learning the game My skill level is 3.0 - 3.5 that gets decent pace to fast pace, uses some topspin but not obsessed with it and like to use flat winners with my forehands and play mostly a counter punching baseline game I also want to get a new racket but have no idea where to start for demoing from Tennis Warehouse the head ti S2 is a very light racket (9.4 ounces) so i know if i wanna step up my game i should move up to some heavier sticks but im not sure what to try Two rackets I will probably demo are the EXO3 95 rebel team (lite version of monfils) and head youtek radical which i used briefly before and really enjoyed are there any babolats that you reccomend for me my budget is up to $200 for the stick wat strings are good for me?

Hey everyone! I got started playing tennis a couple of months ago when a friend invited me to play on the spur of the moment. I ran to Target to get everything I needed (before that, I didn't even own a pair of athletic shoes!). I was delighted to find a Prince racket at Target, called the "Maria Sharipova Lite" for only $20. My friend, a life-long tennis fanatic, was rather impressed with the quality of the racket for the money I paid. I've used it twice. However, now I am starting tennis lessons this week with a professional instructor. I went on a tennis sporting goods website and found the cheapest rackets to be $170 dollars! Compared to a $170 racket, will my $20 racket hold up for more rigorous use? http://www.amazon.com/Prince-Maria-Tennis-Racquet-Oversized/dp/B0035R4VVO/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=sporting-goods&qid=1264572365&sr=8-2 Here is my racket. The original price says $50.

How much does tennis equipment usually cost? I know it's depending on what you get, but what's the cheapest amount you can spend if you're a woman, need the racket, clothes, shoes, balls, etc.? Thank you! :] Also, you could tell me how much you personally spent, if you would like to.

It does not have to be cheap rackets. I am looking for high quality rackets

He plays tennis competatively 24/7 but I know that the good tennis rackets are very expensive and the cheap ones are crappy, and he already has one. He also likes music but I made him a cd for Xmas... My friend says I should give him a kiss since we haven't kissed yet. He is turning 13.

I want to buy 1 or 2 cool Wii games with my Christmas money but I don't have money for a Wii Balance Board. I know where I can get the Wii bats, tennis rackets, drums, and a steering wheel for really cheap, but I don't want to have to spend more than 20 or 30 dollars on extra equipment. I have the remote and the nanchuck, both from when we first got the Wii in 2007. I'd really appreciate some suggestions for games that don't require extra equipment or that only require extra equipment that I can purchase the extras for less than 30 dollars all together. I'm a girl and I'm in my early 20's. I haven't played any actual video games since I was a teenager. I love the Mario games, some board and card games, I think I'd like Sims but I never played it, I'm kind of a girlie girl and don't like a lot of action games like war and fighting games, I like bowling and tennis but I seriously cannot play baseball on the Wii. I hope that helps with some suggestions. Thank you and I seriously appreciate any suggestions (even if I didn't mention liking that kind of game cos I have no clue what there is so obviously I'd like more than what I listed)!! I also like games with a purpose. Like levels that you can work your way up to and that have rewards and special stuff for getting so far. And I also like anime. I liked Kingdom Hearts when it came out but I don't know if that's more for little kids cos I can't really remember it much.

I'm thinking about purchasing one with all the accessories and what not, but is it really all that its cracked to be? The accessories looks cheap and light ie..the baseball bats, golf stick, tennis racket, and so on.

I play with a Head racket I bought from Target for $15-20. Is there a significant difference between the rackets from Target and the rackets from a professional sports store that cost $180+ ? I've gone through two rackets from Target now and they break after about 4-7 months. Do more expensive rackets have more durability than the cheap ones? One more question; If I do decide to buy a pricey racket this time, which one should I get? I hit generally flat and hard, and my serve is the same. Any recommendations are appreciated. ;)

Price range is under $350. Looking for the cheapest 6 point system out there, but don't want it to be low quality like many of the Eagnas models. Thanks.

I've been playing tennis a few times a week for a few weeks now. Unfortunately I do not have the luxury of a coach, but have been learning strokes and technique through Fuzzyyellowballs.com which has been quite helpful. As my forehand and backhand have gotten better, I've been having a problem with over hitting the ball. I use a semi-western forehand, so I'm generating a decent amount of spin, but still seem to be hitting long balls. My current racket is cheap $40 Oversize (110 inch) from Target. I was thinking that maybe buying a better quality racket with smaller head-size would help? Again I'm still somewhat new to tennis so any help would be great. Just some added details. -I am not hitting the ball as hard as I can, just hitting the shot comfortably. -I play for recreation while at college with a friend, can't really afford lessons at this point.

I am starting lessons on sunday with a family friend, who happens to be a state champion and own the local tennis club. The problem is that I've been using a beginner's racquet and just recently demoed some racquets. I'm torn between the Pure Drive Roddick Plus and the O3 Hybrid Hornet. I won't play well without a new racquet because the strings are WAY worn out and it's just a cheap beginner's racquet. I don't want to play poorly on my first lesson with this guy. What should I do?

Ok, I really need help with any or all of these you know for a tennis crossword puzzle: 1. The act of striking the ball with the racket (6 letters) 2. A good service which is not touched by the receiver(3 letters) 3. The ball is put into play at the beginning orf the game and after each point with ___________(5 letters) 4. The cheapest of all strings for tennis rackets; generally not recommended bc they lose life quickly.(4 letters) 5. Another name for that portion of the court known as no-man's-land (9 letters) 6. To hold the racket at a point nearer its striking surface, shortening the grip(5 letters) 7. a term used to denote the fact that a player does not have to play a match in the first round of a tournament(3 letters) 8. racket face tilted backward so it faces upward(4 letters) 9. term used to indicate a strong, hard, forehand or backhand shot to the baseline(5 letters) 10. the preliminary movement of the racket in all tennis strokes(9 letters) Ok, thanks all for your help! All the answers worked except for two of them, #8 and #9. #8 has 4 letters and I'm pretty sure the third letter is E, so (_ _ E _ ) #9 has five letters and I think it starts with a d and the third letter is i, so (D _ I _ _ ) Thanks!

I am looking to buy a new racket soon. My two choices are Wilson nTour Two 95 & Wilson nSix One 95 Which one of them are better for fast serves and control for baseline shots. I would also like to generate more topspin but my main preference is to have more control on baseline shots. Because I want more powerful baseline shots but with control as well. I am only going to buy nCode rackets because they are cheap and are good (I am not going to buy a k factor) I am 14 years old and my NTRP is 4.0

Hi! I have been saving for a 80GB ps3 for about a year by helping out my mom and dad working around the house, and my grandma gave me some communion money (she owed 5 years ago =D) so I had an extra 200$ so my dad was looking downstairs on his dell in the office and found a great deal on NewEgg! He wanted me to get a 160 GB instead of a 80 GB so I thought..OK! (I had something to brag to my friends) so when we were relaxing on my deck after dinner (Mom, Dad, and me) I started talking about my dad about the Ps3. Before we made a deal to make half. My dad said no but my mom said. Yes Tom, I remember. Then he was like ffeeww....allright. Since my mom wakes up at 4 in the morning to go to work when she came at 3 she went to go take a nap....my dad came at 6-5 and found a great deal at Newegg (did I already say this?) So i came with my wallet we were each supposed to pay about 270, when i gave it to him I said he owes me eight dollars. He said keep quiet I buy you new tennis racket! ( It was on sale for 20$ =/ ...) So my dad said the 50 dolllars you gonna get from grandma you have to give to me allright! and since were both supposed to pay about 250 im suddenly paying over 300$? My dad is cheap but I thought I could get a second game other then the Drakes Fortune! My dad is acting a little cheap. It's not because of the "economy" can someone help? He was like sneaky he made me pay extra when my mom was taking a nap (upstairs)

ive just been out and bought a new tennis racket because mine was slightly too short for me. the new racket ive bought is a HEAD liquidmeatal S6, my old one was just a dunlop no make cheap one. the new racket is about 3 inches taller overall (about 1 inch for the grip and 2 inches for the head) and ive worked out that where i would be hitting the ball on the old racket is on the shock reducer and way too low on the new racket. because of this i am having troubles with returning the ball and serving. i had a fairly low but confident serve before, now i have to throw the ball higher and i am unconfident in hitting it at that height, and on my returns i am hitting the ball too low on the racket and it ends up being less powerful than needed or goes off in a different direction entirely, can anybody help or give me tips to improve with my new racket?

So I am thinking about buying a new tennis racket the one i have was really cheap, and its seen better days. but I have a small problem. See, I live in a small town about an hour away from a city with stores that would sell sporting goods. My dad told me to just order one online, but i think it would be better if we actually went there so i could hold the racket before we spend the money on one. What do you think? Should I order online,or not? Thanx to anyone who answers :-)

I bought a cheap wilson hope racquet from walmart to start practicing. (My parents didnt want to spend more than $25-$30 because i am a beginner). The racket is very light and it seems like everytime I hit the ball it goes out. (Even when I barely touch it, it seems like). I wanted to try out for the tennis team soon (2 weeks) so should I try to convince my parents to get me a better racket. And would a racket like the Head Liquidmetal 8 be okay for me?

My father has a Prince Vortex Oversize racket from back in the day, which cost him a pretty number. I usually use a cheap $30 dollar racket that serves me very well, but I've been itching to use his racket. The problem is that I can't use it!! Keep note that he's never restrung it in the past 10 years, never really cared for it at all. But it is like using a .44 magnum, it's just so powerful, everything I hit always goes long (like flat but wayy long, I hit the other player at the base line). It feels so smooth, I barely feel the impact. It is quite heavy though. I was wondering, is this racket difficult for me to use because I'm a beginner? Or has racket technology improved in the past 10 years to the point that the light little $30 racket is comarable to the $200 plus monster? Perhaps, I need to restring it (what happens if you don't?)? But most importantly, as a 2.0 rate player, should I practice with it? Or is it just too advanced for me??

I'm thinking of buying wilson k sting 105 (blue and white one) I've been just practicing hitting the ball with forehand and backhand so I'm kind of used to holding a tennis racket in the past 3 weeks..... so do you guys think k sting is good for me to continue from now on? if yes, what are some good websites that sells it cheap because the one I saw at the store was $149 (including its bag, which is free)...or are they all the same price? thanks

first, my strings on my head si10 racket broke again (they were power strings) and i was wondering if I should get power strings again (this is the 2nd time strings broke, first time power strings broke)...also, i was wondering if there are any cheap (under $50) rackets that are good that I could find at sportsauthority or online or whatever that could serve as a good alternate racket in case strings break again during a match also, gimme some suggestions about some good tennis/running shoes because every pair i own begins to rip on the left shoe on the big toe spot because i slide a lot and go for every ball, thus putting pressure on the shoe thanks

Hi, I am a tennis enthusiast. i'm 14, 3.5 player and play for my high school team. in due time (3-4weeks) i am going to be buying some new tennis stuff. problem is I live in vancouver and prices are a little high. it would be quite expensive to "re-stock" my tennis stuff. I was wondering if i went down to the US during the summer if i could find some good deals or would prices we generally cheaper then they are in canada. heres what im looking for: ball hopper ($75-$100 in Vancouver) babolat pure drive racket ($200 in Vancouver) tennis shoes ($100-$130 in Vancouver) factor in that the canadian dollar is around 90 cents american lower tax in the US if you have experience with the prices and know them please let me know if it is worth it to go to the states to buy some gear. thanks

does this game actually work? I saw it in Cheaper by the Dozen... Do you think this would be fun to do on a date with a woman you already know pretty well? I'm 18 and have a date with a co camp counselor from NYC Summer camp. does this sound like it would be pretty fun? What kind of apples would you need to buy? Will a regular racket do? Thanks Would this be fun? She kind of mentioned it a few times when we hung out before... I tried it and the apples take forever to break, do you need small apples instead?

For my birthday I want to get a tennis racket and start playing some tennis to see if I want to continue. I'm 14 years old now, and will be a freshman in high school next year, and will play tennis if I get good enough. Is the racket posted above good for a beginner? Because it's pretty cheap for the quality. So I was just wondering. ALSO, I'm moving this summer and don't have time to take tennis lessons. If I play recreationally with people that have played and know how to play, is it good enough if I ask them for help? Because my new school has fall tennis, not spring. Sorry, I couldn't post the link. But is Dick's Sporting Goods a good place to get racquets? Because I live in a small town with no Sport's Authorities or Modell's.

Hello, Recently I have been looking to buy a new tennis racket. I am a decent player, but only play for fun (and would like to play often). I am a 6'2 teenager (if this has an effect - and probably still growing). Please list a few rackets that you would suggest. Also, don't worry about the price because I have some money to spend, and if I am going to buy a racket, I don't want to buy a cheap racket to then have to buy an upgrade later on. Thanks.

can you rate the: control- performance- durabiliy- power- sweet spot- and in general- so i recently got a new tennis racket. i wasn't looking for a really expensive one so i came across Prince Air Smash and it was only $38 so i decided to try it but before i even open up the packaging: has anyone ever used this racket? if so, do you like it? why or why not? if you didn't like it: what could be a better racket that i should buy that is cheap? this is the link: http://www.doittennis.com/rackets/prince/air-osmash.php http://www.dickssportinggoods.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3467070

I've been playing with a child size one for 1-2 years and my tennis coach says i need an adult one. I tried afew of the ones available at our club and he says i hit better and harder with adult sized ones. therefore i am going to buy a new adult sized one, except i dont know how to choose a good one for me. I want one which isnt too expensive or cheap, and is a good brand. How do i choose a good one for me? in my country, they don't let me test them out which is a pain. So i really dont want to buy the wrong one. Does anyone have any reccomendations? thanks.
